WHAT IS IBS-Smart™ ?

IBS-Smart™ is a simple blood test that makes it possible to diagnose irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) quickly and without extensive testing. The test measures validated IBS biomarkers: anti-CdtB and anti-vinculin. These biomarkers are found in the majority of IBS patients and can diagnose diarrhoea-predominant IBS (IBS-D) or IBS with variable stool quality (IBS-M) quickly and without time-consuming investigations. Thus, thanks to IBS-Smart™, a diagnosis of IBS by exclusion is no longer necessary.

WHY IBS-Smart™?

10 % of the western population suffers from Irritable Bowel Syndrome1. IBS can cause unpleasant, persistent abdominal pain, cramps, bloating and stool changes. However, many of these symptoms also occur in other gastrointestinal diseases. Until now, IBS could therefore only be diagnosed by invasive exclusion diagnostics. IBS-Smart™ is currently the only test that allows to quickly diagnose IBS using a blood test, without extensive testing and unnecessary costs.
