PANORAMA™

The non-invasive prenatal test

WHAT IS PANORAMA™?

PANORAMA™ is a non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) that screens for common genetic conditions that are caused by extra or missing chromosomes in the baby’s DNA. During pregnancy, the child’s DNA also enters the mother’s bloodstream. PANORAMA™ is the only NIPT  that can distinguish between fetal and maternal DNA. PANORAMA™ thereby analyzes fetal DNA, identifying the likelihood of chromosomal disease in your baby.

WHAT INFORMATION DOES PANORAMA™ PROVIDE?

PANORAMA™ provides a personalized report, which indicates whether your baby has a high or low chance for certain genetic conditions, including Down syndrome (trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18), Pätau syndrome (trisomy 13) and triploidy. Optionally, a range of 5 other syndromes (microdeletion syndromes) can also be examined. In addition, a possible Turner syndrome can be detected by examining the sex chromosomes. The PANORAMA™ test can also be used to determine the sex of your baby (including twins), if desired.

Panorama™ is a screening test and therefore cannot provide a definitive diagnosis. A high-risk result means that your baby is more likely to have a specific genetic condition.

HOW CAN I GET TESTED WITH PANORAMA™?

Your doctor will order the test, which requires only a simple blood draw.

WHEN CAN I GET TESTED WITH PANORAMA™?

The PANORAMA™ can be performed as early as nine weeks gestation, but is usually recommended after the first trimester test.
