SELECT MDX

A non-invasive, simple urine tes that can determine the risk for prostate cancer

WHAT IS SELECT MDX?

Select mdx is a non-invasive, simple urine test based on two prostate cancer-specific biomarkers that can determine the risk for prostate cancer.

WHY SELECT MDX?

Biopsies can be painful and carry complications. The simple Select mdx urine test determines the risk of prostate cancer, improving diagnostic decision making and identifying patients who may benefit from an mpMRI scan and biopsy. If the test indicates that you are at low risk for malignant prostate cancer, you may forgo a prostate biopsy and the physician can monitor you using routine controls. However, if the test indicates that you are at high risk of a malignant form of cancer, the urologist will refer you for a biopsy. The Select mdx test helps in the early identification of men at high risk of prostate cancer and excludes men at very low risk who can avoid a biopsy.

HOW DOES SELECT MDX WORK?

In the laboratory, the increased level of cancer-related genes is examined. In the Select mdx test, this value is combined with other clinical risks, such as the PSA value, prostate size, age and family history. As a result, this test can confidently predict the chances of cancer being found in a biopsy and the aggressiveness of it.

HOW CAN I GET A SELECT MDX TEST DONE?

Ask your doctor to use Select mdx in advance if an elevated PSA or other risk factors lead to a biopsy recommendation. Your urologist can simply send in your urine sample.
